STUDIO FIX IMPRESS THE MUSIC FOR YOUTH JUDGESCongratulations to the three Studio Fix acts that wowed the judges at the recent Music For Youth 2017 regional heats. Well done to The Gas Tanks (Gary, Matt, Sam, Ed, Jake and Tom), TMT (Thabo, Daniel, Kaamil, Godswill, Wisdom and Israel) andSixth Senate (Thomas, Adam, Niall, Oliver, George and Joel) who each performed three songs for the judges. Each group have spent Studio Fix time writing and recording their own work in their aim to reach the National Finals in the Summer. The finalists will be announced by Music For Youth following the Easter holidays. The positive comments by the judges included songs having “great topical narratives”, “highly original songs really well performed by everyone” and their appreciation of the “guitar and drum solos” featured. Well done to the boys for all their hard work, along with the support of Mr Gilbert and Mr Robertson.
Studio Fix @ Old Bexley Primary SchoolOn Wednesday 20th January a group of Studio Fix performers visited Old Bexley Primary School and presented an entertaining showcase of their songs. Their performance made a lasting impression on the pupils and staff of the school. 5th Lyrik performed ‘Hash Tag’, with the audience joining in with the chorus and actions, Ollie & Sam sang ‘Sail Away’ and, the now famous, ‘Chicken Shop’ was performed by The Gas Tanks. Hurstmere has since received fantastic comments and appreciations for the Studio Fix performance. “Not only was it a pleasure, but such an inspirational experience for our children, who clapped and sang along.” “The performance yesterday was amazing. The boys represented Hurstmere impeccably as always. They are so polite, well-mannered and smart.” “The children loved the songs and they could be heard singing them long after the end of the show.” “A big well done to all of the boys and staff involved and we look forward to collaborating with Hurstmere again in the future.” A massive thank you goes to Mr Gilbert and the Music Department for their hard work and support; and to the pupils for the excellent way in which they represented the school.
